BBC Radio Scotland – Hunting for Nessie

This afternoon I appeared on ‘Out for the Weekend’ to talk about my son’s determination to go on an expedition to find Nessie in the depths of Loch Ness. Quite ambitious for a three year old. But as a parent it’s not as straightforward as it seems, there’s a lot of choice of accommodation, cruises and attractions. Listen here at 01.33.10 to hear how the intrepid wee fellow got on and whether it would work for your tots.

Our base camp was the self-catering serviced apartments on the riverside in Inverness. They were called the Highland Apartments by Mansley and I’d thoroughly recommend them, ideal for family travel.

We set sail on Jacobite Cruises‘ ‘Freedom’ tour – blog post still to come. This was a fifteen minute drive from Inverness and included an hour at Urquhart castle. Fantastic.

Afterwards we visited the Loch Ness Centre and Exhibition for lunch, a tour and shopping for Nessie goodies – post still to come.

Going on the hunt for Nessie gave our visit a mission. My little GoJetters were on form.

Nessie is quite fascinating, it must have been exciting to learn more about the story behind the monster

There’s a lot of history there, as well as a lot of fun. Great combination.
