We visited Dumfries House in January 2020, and we’ve held back sharing it for so long, but with the talk that summer staycations may be possible it’s time to share. So if you’re looking for somewhere different when it’s eventually safe to explore Scotland bear Dumfries Estate in mind. This country estate is a family friendly rural break. Self-catering accommodation is ideal in times of Covid, and the grounds and country house are simply stunning. It also makes for a good day out, and does a mean Sunday lunch. Have you seen the house’s yellow family parlour? It’s jaw-dropping, I wouldn’t let my kids near it 🙂
The restaurants won’t stay shut forever so I wrote these tips about dining out with children. Anyone who knows me can vouch for the fact that I do not have prim perfect little darlings, but normal kids who laugh, fight, cry, get tired. Thankfully, so far, they have never thrown food!
