Sailing Loch Katrine on Sir Walter Scott – The Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park is a playground for young and old. We took a sail on the iconic steamship Sir Walter Scott, an hour long cruise on Loch Katrine, ideal for mini tourists and their parents. It was pretty chilled, apart from making sure the kids didn’t climb on the railings or squeeze between them, but as a parent it’s hard to truly relax! But I’d definitely recommend this trip if you’re in the area, an achievable way to get kids into the countryside.
Occasionally I run posts where the pictures do the talking, this is one of those times. Discover more at www.lochkatrine.com.

Exploring Scotland, pretty unbeatable really…
When we visited Loch Katrine we stayed at the Forest Holidays lodges with hot tubs!

What an amazing experience. And you’re right, the photos tell you all you need to know. Simply stunning views.

Some lochs are wonderfully raw and wild. Loch Katrine has beautiful scenery but it’s wildly civilised, if you know what I mean!

Thanks. Lovely way to spend an afternoon. I’m partial to a wee boat trip!

I love boat trips, especially on bright sunny days. Great day exploring for the whole family.

Great pace at which to see the countryside too.
