Dumfries and Galloway is really geared up with attractions especially aimed at wee ones. From chocolate and ice cream to Peter Pan and pirates, it was all going on. Here are the highlights.
As far as kids are concerned there’s never a bad time for ice-cream. Cream O Galloway offers excellent outdoor play areas, indoor soft play, farm tours and – drum roll – ice cream tasting sessions! Unsurprisingly our tots were happy to head off to this Dumfries and Galloway children’s favourite when they heard what was in store.
The modern Devil’s Porridge Museum caught my attention because, with a name like that, I didn’t know what on earth it was about, but I thought I might like it. Turns out, this Eastriggs museum, works surprisingly well for kids, because it’s all about explosions!

Peter Pan Moat Brae opens on 1 June 2019. The site that inspired JM Barrie to write Peter Pan has been transformed into Scotland’s National Centre for Storytelling and Children’s Literature.
