In terms of events I thoroughly recommend the Enchanted Forest held every autumn. Faskally Woods are beautifully illuminated, and children are transfixed. Read how we got on, tips and advice, here.
Where to Stay
These are the hotels we’ve experienced and enjoyed in Perthshire.

The Moness Pool
The Moness Resort, Aberfeldy – For self-catering facilities with access to hotel dining, pool and spa the Moness Resort is the perfect solution. There’s even a play room near the bar, and it’s very reasonable.

The Lounge in the Atholl Arms, Dunkeld
Atholl Arms, Dunkeld – For excellent cuisine, a riverside beer garden and a central Dunkeld location visit the Atholl Arms. Book the Victoria Suite for extra space.
And click here if you fancy some glamping inspiration at Comrie Croft! The Nordic Yurts were so cool.

The Scottish Crannog Centre is definitively one of my favourite place of that region. The guide we had was amazing and it was fun to dress up 🙂

I loved all the natural dyes and herb gardens, things I felt I should maybe try at home.

We almost stayed at the Moness at our last trip but it didn’t work out. We wanted to do that Highland drive. I’m now saving it for the next time we go. You’ve really tempted me 🙂

So much for families in Perthshire and Moness worked especially well, best of both worlds – self-catering and hotel.
