Lodges with Hot Tubs Scotland!

Lodges with Hot Tubs in Scotland – A private hot tub for your family to enjoy is such a luxury but some Scottish resorts now offer them as standard. Here is a range of options we’ve personally tried, from large holiday parks to tucked away country cottages.

ANGUS – Lodge with Hot Tubs Scotland

Landal Piperdam, near Dundee

Landal Piperdam has six immaculate new lochside lodges with beautiful views over the water from their notably large hot tubs and expansive outdoor decking areas. We saw moorhens, herons, geese and ducks from the luxury of our hot tub. Each lodge sleeps 8 people across 4 bedrooms (two double rooms, two twin rooms, and ALL have en suite bath or shower rooms).

Our tub wasn’t at temperature when we arrived on Friday evening, but it was ready to use when we woke up the next day. On Friday night we were happy to play pool in our lounge, the kids were delighted to discover the Disney Channel on TV, and we cooked, ate and drank in the fully furnished kitchen.

Landal Piperdam offers accommodation that sleeps from 2-12 people, so it’s ideal for couples, families and larger groups such as multi generational holidays. Many of the lodges offer hot tubs; some properties are older than others so check the online photos to get a sense of things, but I can personally recommend the fresh, modern lochside lodges.

A definite plus at Landal Piperdam was the very long list of things to do at the resort. We didn’t need to leave! And it was arguably as economical to book some activities and eat cheaply at the lodge, than head out sightseeing and dine out. The kids got stuck into a slime workshop, making two types of gloopy gross slime (£10 per child for 45 mins), they went nuts in the large soft play (£6.75 per child) and they loved the high octane Segway experience (£20 each for 45 mins). Adults are welcome to participate in most activities too. Grown ups also appreciate the resort’s 9 and 18-hole golf courses, and the spa that uses Elemis products. We also hit up Piperdam’s noticeably warm swimming pool, with jacuzzi, sauna and steam room (free to guests).

I’d read mixed reviews of the onsite restaurant, but the relaxed ‘Room with a View’ menu worked really well for us. The kids tucked into generous bacon burgers and cheeky chocolate brownies from the children’s menu. Mr Husband was happy with his Scotch egg starter, followed by a pork belly main. Meanwhile I tucked into vegetable tempura, followed by Chicken Balmoral. It was a lovely night out. Who wants to cook every night on holiday?!

HIGHLANDS – Lodges with Hot Tubs Scotland

Ben Nevis Holiday Park, Fort William

The Ben Nevis Holiday Park, part of Highland Holidays, is pristine. It offers a mix of camping, touring pitches, glamping, and some of its immaculate lodges come with hot tubs. We checked into a three-bedroom lodge (a four-bedroom hot tub lodge is also available), and the mountainous view from the decking and hot tub was jaw-dropping. When you arrive, simply pull the lid off the tub, it’s piping hot and good to go. Shower room towels are provided, plus separate hot tub towels.

The kitchen is excellently furnished, even including a wine fridge, washing machine and dishwasher, plus plastic glassware for a cheeky beverage in the tub. Every bedroom has a television, plus an ensuite shower room complete with luxurious Highland Soap Company toiletries. Onsite, there’s also a café, shop, laundrette and very friendly staff. Dogs are welcome here, plus there’s a host of things to do nearby. The Ben Nevis Holiday park is a gem and I definitely recommend it. Highland Holidays also have sites in Oban and Tyndrum too.

PERTHSHIRE – Lodges with Hot Tubs Scotland

Loch Tay Highland Lodges

At Loch Tay Highland Lodges, choose between hot tub accommodation that ranges from glamping domes to smart full furnished lodges and houses. We were in the pristine three-bedroom Eldersburn Lodge, and its hot tub even had its own hideaway so the rain could fall but we were safely tucked away. The views down over the water were so calming. The lodge’s decking also offered excellent views and it’s potentially quite the sun trap.

The hot tub water wasn’t at temperature on the first of our three night stay, but the kids went in regardless at 35/36 degrees. I waited till the following morning for a more tempting 38 degrees, but it was simply a case of pulling the lid off the tub and in you splash! The master bedroom had its own ensuite, while the two additional bedrooms shared a bathroom. While the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare family meals, if you don’t wish to cook there is a casual restaurant onsite, The Boathouse. It’s family friendly and situated down by the water.

This location is a real opportunity to get away from it all. There are several outdoor activities available on site, from boat hire and katakanu kayak hire to archery and disc golf. Walkers have neighbouring Ben Lawers to tackle if they wish, but this is a rleatively remote location for reading, relaxing and chilling. Four legged friends welcome too.

FIFE – Lodges with Hot Tubs Scotland

Madeira Gardeners’ Cottage, Pittenweem

Madeira’s three-bedroom Gardeners Cottage has a master double with ensuite, a second double bedroom, then a third bedroom with bunkbeds, but all ages are drawn to the wood-fired hot tub discreetly tucked away at the back of the house. It naturally takes a few hours to heat up but, once it’s cosy, it’s bliss. The cottage has a large, modern kitchen, a living room with a wood-burning stove, a sunroom, plus a secluded patio area with ample seating for hanging out and outdoor dining.

The Madeira estate is a quiet country retreat but it’s great for kids. Our children found a ‘Dragon’s Nest’ in the grounds, played rope swings over a small burn, followed the Hedgehog woodland trail in search of wildlife, and fetched their own eggs from the Madeira chicken coop. The Dell is an outdoor fire pit for al fresco dining, or you can make use of The Bothy, a covered terraced area with pizza ovens and a wood burning stove, ideal for a multigenerational holiday hang out or bringing friends together. This rural gem is just a mile from Pittenweem. STIRLING – Lodges with Hot Tubs Scotland

Forest Holidays Strathyre, Callander

Forest Holidays offers modern cabins with hot tubs as standard on the banks of Loch Lubnaig.  The hot tub was undoubtedly the main attraction for our family, plus it’s simply switched on and is warm straight away.

To be fair ‘cabin’ is a huge understatement. Our Forest Holidays Silver Birch accommodation was a smart two bedroom house in the forest with large panoramic windows, an open plan kitchen/diner/lounge, a hot tub on the decking and modern interiors. The hot tub was warm when we arrived. In terms of activities, we booked a Mini Ranger experience with a Forest Ranger. For a detailed review of our stay read more here. And remember, Forest Holidays offer lodges across 12 UK rural destinations so see which destination suits you.

ARGYLL & BUTE – Lodges with Hot Tubs Scotland

Drimsynie Holiday Village, Cairndow

Lodges with Hot Tubs Scotland

If you love on-site activities and don’t really wish to leave your resort, then Drimsynie may be the place for you. Our modern lodge, Ptarmigan 3, had stunning views over Loch Goil, and the hot tub on the decking was the cherry on the cake. When we arrived it was already warm and I didn’t really have to do anything to the hot tub except lift the lid (compared to wood-fired tubs).

The accommodation was spacious with a twin room with ensuite shower room for the tots. Then a double room with ensuite shower room for mummy. Over two days we tried out the playground, swimming pool with jacuzzi, crazy golf, soft play, Fun House arcades, Sand Art, and we booked a WaterWalkerz session in the pool, plus attended the Baby Disco in the evening. At Drimsynie many activities have an individual charge so read a full review here. A restaurant and bar mean you don’t have to cook if you don’t want to.

Argyll Holidays have other resorts with hot tubs in Hunters Quay Holiday Village in Dunoon, Loch Lomond Holiday Village in Inveruglas, Stratheck Holiday Park in Dunoon and Loch Awe Holiday Park in Taynuilt. Enjoy!

AYRSHIRE & ARRAN – Lodges with Hot Tubs Scotland

Auchrannie Resort, Arran

The self-catering apartments, retreats or cabins at this luxury island resort come with their very own wood-fired hot tub. The cabins are modern and high spec, in smart calming grey and yellow tones, and the fire pit was an added bonus on warm evenings. The hot tub was bliss, and it heated up relatively quickly. The resort also offers two swimming pools, a play barn for kids, three restaurants and a courtesy bus from the ferry.

Just so you know, every time we visit a new site with a hot tub I’ll update the listings, but if we haven’t stayed, it’s not going in! This way you know we rate the destination. We hope you find a beautiful spot for your next escape.
